Summary
John Locke's liberal ideas on government were known to have greatly influenced the Founding Fathers in the United States, with his philosophies standing as guiding principles in the founding of the country and the writing of the Constitution. Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison in particular were known to greatly respect Locke's ideas and writings. This painting of the Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence, was completed in 1819 by John Trumball
