Summary
A painting of the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is said that the gardens were built by King Nebuchadnezzar II as a gift to his first wife who was longing for the plants and flowers of her homeland. Possibly located in Ninevah, Iraq, the Hanging Gardens consisted of thousands of plants held up on intricate trellis and terrace systems and are thought to have been completed around 600 BC
