Summary

In the wake of today's most controversial issue of gun violence, a teen becomes the victim of his own urban planning. Red is somewhat of a pariah at school, socially withdrawn from his family and frustrated by his gritty urban surroundings. He longs for a better life if only he could control the things around him. Namely his embarrassing alcoholic father, recovering addict mother and a popular jock at school who is bullying him. His only true place of solitude is a journal he keeps
