Summary
The story of how a group of Australian, Dutch, and British women prisoners of the Japanese in World War II Sumatra used their love of classical music to create a choir which enabled them to survive the brutal treatment of their captors. Many of the survivors are interviewed and the Peninsula Women's Chorus of Palo Alto, California, directed by Patricia Hennings, performs some of the music which made prison life endurable
