A powerful epic about a man of the sword and a man of the cloth who unite to shield a South American Indian tribe from brutal subjugation by 18th-century colonial empires. The story of Mendoza, a man who turns to God in anguish after murdering his own brother. Whilst a lay brother at a Jesuit mission in South America, conflict between Church and State arises with the threat of closing the mission.
