The women of Ivy Manor, bk. 1
Summary
Chloe Lorraine Kimball is born at the estate of Ivy Manor in the wee hours of the twentieth century. Growing up, she is the apple of her grandmother's eye. Becoming a young woman, and having a home filled with everything a young girl could desire, she still lacks the one thing she wants above all else: unconditional love from her parents. And so, with the help of friends, one of whom cares for Chloe more than she's prepared to acknowledge, Chloe strikes out on her own. Escaping into New York City's bohemian world of the Roaring Twenties, she begins to live on her own terms, determined to stand apart form her family. She embraces marriage and a career. But nothing, not even motherhood, brings her what she longs for. As her world comes crashing down amid the opening months of the Depression, Chloe must realize that whether or not she's capable of giving and receiving love is something entirely up to her. Will she find happiness on her own terms?
