Summary
Thanksgiving in Pecan Springs, and China is planning to visit her mother, Leatha, and her mother's husband, Sam, and catch up with game warden Mackenzie "Mack" Chambers, who was recently transferred to the area. Then Sam has a heart attack, and China discovers that their helper, Sue Ellen, is in some serious trouble. But before she can tell China the full story, Sue Ellen's car veers off a deserted road and she is killed.
