- Summary
- Although he came to prominence when most young trumpet players tended to be brash and extroverted, Art Farmer developed a style that is lyrical and wistful, but still swings. He has a great musical versatility that enables him to play up-tempo blues, subdued ballads and experimental sounds with equal ease. Here on trumpet and flugelhorn, he brings a refined soft-edged tone to favorites. Art also gives an inside look at his life and music as he reflects back on his years in both Europe and the United States
